Description of Hunger Hill Yurts

The Yurts at Hunger Hill, set in a two acre Meadow, share a small holding with Kune kune pigs, chickens, and a friendly dog and all have wonderful views over the Otter Valley.

Lit by fairy lights and Moroccan lanterns, with sheepskins and cushions to relax on around a central wood-burning stove the Yurts are very warm and cosy at night.

Hunger Hill is a perfect glamping venue for young children to make friends, visit the animals and explore the natural world while you doze in a hammock around the camp fire, watch the buzzards, chop some wood.

It’s a lovely walk down the River Otter to the Mill for a cream tea or if you are looking for action you can book horse riding, mackerel fishing, foraging walks, bush craft, wind surfing or a walking adventure on Dartmoor and more… all info is on our web site.

There are so many county and seaside activities to choose from.

From Exmouth to Lyme Regis there is a different beach for each day of the week.

We offer a sumptuous breakfast hamper full of local produce and sell our home produced eggs and bacon chutney and preserves.

Hunger Hill Yurts is a very well equipped glamping venue.

We provide as much as possible here to make your stay easy so you can really relax and experience camping with a difference!

Each 18' Yurt has a double and 2 single comfy beds made up with feather duvets and cotton sheets.

All have a fully equipped kitchens with a calor gas cooker, table and stools, a comfy chair and Moroccan storage boxes.

The kilims, cushions and sheep skins gives the Yurts a nomadic feel.

The wood burners ensure the Yurts are always cosy.

There is a good supply of logs included in the price. The Yurt experience offer all the pleasures of camping and none of the hassle!

Other Accommodation at Hunger Hill Yurts

The Orchard Yurt is set in a separate area but with access to the main Yurt Meadow. It has its own kitchen, covered eating area, shower, toilet and parking space close by.

It's a larger Yurt making room for a big comfy sofa. It also has hammocks, picnic bench, fire pit and wonderful views over the Otter Valley to Peak Hill at Sidmouth.
