Selected in The Guardian in 2011 as one of ten luxury camping experiences in the UK, Lakes Yurts have two brand new yurts made in the Lake District with locally coppiced wood.
Named Saran and Altan, the yurts each sleep up to five people on a large double sofa bed and two large single sofa beds plus a camping mat.
Each yurt has been beautifully furnished by their interior designer owner in a Jubilee/vintage style.
Each has a wood burner (with all fire material supplied), fully equipped kitchen area with two gas rings and grill, rugs, cushions and box full of board games.
They also have a skylight for star gazing and solar panels which supply lighting and a power point.
The yurts are situated at Seatoller in the stunning Borrowdale Valley close to the foot of Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain.
They are sited on a quiet National Trust campsite with washing facilities and toilets less than a minute away and hot showers three minutes away.
Every imaginable outdoor activity is on your doorstep and you step out of the yurt to breathtaking scenery and the River Derwent (a stream at this point) only 50m in front of you.
A regular bus service runs into the nearest town of Keswick and there are great lakeland pubs and hotels in the valley.
