“Unique opportunity to stay in an authentic reconstructed Celtic Roundhouse set in a wooded glade in Cornwall.”

Description of Bodrifty Roundhouse

Strictly for rustic romance, this unique accommodation is a replica of an ancient Celtic roundhouse, built close to the remnants of one of Europe’s most notable Iron Age settlements.

Standing atop wild moors from where you can see the north and south coasts, it’s difficult to imagine that this was once a busy hub on important trading routes.

But history comes to life in your thatched roof dwelling tucked into a woodland clearing: climb into a regal four-poster made from green oak, feel the warmth of the flames in the firebowl and gaze out at the stars in this remote, tranquil setting.

Despite stepping back in time, modern luxuries abound – as well as duck-down duvets and sheepskin rugs, the roundhouse comes with a private treehouse decked out with underfloor heating, an artisan kitchen and a rain-forest shower.

And if you do ever tire of the birdcall and fairytale setting, it’s a short hop into Penzance and St Ives, and within easy reach of north coast gems such as The Gurnard’s Head and Sennen Cove.
