Nestled in wildflower meadows and orchards this beautiful shepherd's hut has far reaching views across the valley.
The Shepherd’s hut, situated on top of the slope, has far reaching views across the valley. Set in three acres of private meadows and orchards, it is the perfect place to escape and unwind.
Here you will be surrounded by nature. Red kites and buzzards soar in the skies above and when the stars are out listen for the tawny owls hooting and badgers trotting across the fields. In the summer months you will see dragonflies scooting over the pond and the wildflower meadows will be in full bloom.
Inside the hut is spacious with a double deluxe mattress for a perfect night's sleep. It is well insulated & has a wood burner stove for those cooler evenings. We provide bedding, linen and towels for the double bed. Two extra sleeping spaces can be made with our fold out camp beds, or guests are welcome to pitch a tent by the hut (please bring your own bedding). A hot gas shower and toilet are near to the hut. All facilities are private and solely for your use. The only other accommodation on site is a wooden holiday cottage which is far enough away to ensure your privacy.
Outside the hut is a large undercover fully equipped kitchen with double sink (hot running water), gas hob, fridge and seating area for four. There is also a fire-pit with tripod, griddle, paella pan and kotlich. Help yourself to wood from the wood store and also ingredients from the kitchen garden and orchards.
There are many popular market towns to discover in the area – Presteigne, Ludlow, Hay-on-Wye to name a few… Along with fabulous biking & walking terrain, Presteigne has a leisure centre, swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, nature reserve & riverside walk. There is a farmers market every first Saturday of the month as well as fantastic veg shops, fresh fish, wonderful wine bar, butcher, baker & deli. It is a 20 minute stroll across the hills (or a 2 minute car journey).
There are plenty of family activities in the areas such as Quakers, Oakerwood Activity Centre and the Small Breeds Animal Park,
