Our six beautiful alachigh tents can be found in 3 acres of ancient woodland on our family-run farm, surrounded by endless countryside with magnificent views of the Monmouthshire hills.
All you need to do is pack your adventurous spirit, escape to nature, and sleep in luxury beneath the stars.
Each tent is beautifully decorated and fully furnished with Persian-inspired interiors, comfy beds, running water, a wood-burning stove and an en-suite flushing loo.
Specially-designed kitchen units are well stocked with cooking equipment for home-made suppers by candlelight in the tent or a barbecue on the fire-pit just outside. There’s also a shared kitchen nearby.
A luxurious shower block houses four monsoon showers, a roll-top bath, and underfloor heating.
Beyond the glamping site there are magnificent views of the Monmouthshire hills and Severn valley, acres of wildflower meadows, miles’ worth of walks and plenty of local attractions to discover.
Penhein’s unique location, rustic country charm and luxurious camping arrangements promise a wonderful adventure and an idyllic escape to nature.
We have a communal tent, Petro, luxurious washroom facilities, with monsoon showers, roll-top bath & underfloor heating. There’s also a drying room for hanging damp outdoor gear at the end of a wet day. A ‘cheat’s kitchen’ serves as back-up to the wood-burning stove and fire pit in each tent, with a couple of hobs and a microwave. There is an honesty shop for special treats. Penhein Glamping is on private farmland so offers access to the surrounding fields, meadows with their stunning views.
Penhein provides the key ingredients for a happy camping experience. As well as the basics, we also include some little luxuries such as a welcome hamper and useful kitchen essentials. However, you’ll need to bring your own food and drink and some cooking and washing up equipment and waterproof clothing. We have lots of toys and games in the communal tent, but you can also bring your own if you like, A full list of what to bring and what’s included can be found on the Penhein website.

We are open from the middle of March to the beginning of November each year. Our prices are per tent (not per person) and vary depending on the number of nights you stay and the time of year you would like to visit us for your holiday.
We ask for a 25% non refundable deposit to secure your booking. Balance due 10 weeks before your stay. 0% refunds after the 10 week balance payment.

Penhein’s alachigh tents have been custom-made in the UK. Originating from Iran and still used by the nomadic Shahsavan tribe today, they have high, domed ceilings and plenty of space inside. Each tent has been individually decorated. The alachighs are warm, dry, and very comfortable, with proper beds and lovely bedlinen, a wood-burning stove and a skylight for gazing at the stars from your pillow. Sleeps 4 people + 1 extra (or 2 small children).
