Kidwelly Glamping is a small family run campsite on Penlan Isaf Farm in West Wales. It has been awarded a Gold Award for a Quality Assured Glamping Site by Visit Wales (Welsh Tourist Board).
Red Kite and Merlin are two luxury safari tents in large secluded pitches each with their own hot tub.
There is electricity and hot and cold water.
They have two bedrooms, a kingsize bedroom and a bunk bedroom with quality bedlinen and blankets provided. An extra fold-out bed is available on request.
The kitchen has an electric hob, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle.
There are comfy settees and a cosy wood burning stove.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink.
Sit out on the veranda, relax and enjoy the views of the countryside and nearby coastline. Take advantage of the unpolluted night skies of West Wales to stargaze.
There are cattle in the fields alongside the campsite and goats which you can help feed. We have our own chickens, (come and collect the eggs), farm cats and a dog called Suzy.
There is a large sheltered play area in the farmyard with swings, slide, trampoline, ride on buggies and a table tennis table.
There is a footpath from the campsite down through the woods to the town of Kidwelly where you visit its magnificent castle. A 15 minute walk.
There are beaches at Pembrey, Burry Port and Ferryside all within 10 minutes and you will be spoilt for choice for castles to explore in the area. The beaches of the Gower Peninsular, Tenby and Saudersfoot are about an hour away.
Cycle or walk along the Millennium coastal path with spectacular views of the estuary.
We are close to the coastal path and cycle route 4.
Kidwelly Glamping is the perfect base to travel from to explore Carmarthenshire's many attractions and is within easy distance of the Pembrokeshire National Park and the Brecon Beacons.
There is a safe parking area for cars 60 metres from each tent and the shepherd hut. The large play area in the farmyard has swings, slide, trampoline, ride on buggies, a table tennis table and a picnic table. A painted blackboard wall with chalk provided can draw out your artistic talents.
The farm has it's own windmill providing electricity to the campsite. The water comes from the borehole. Wood for the burners comes from local woods.
Wellies will be needed to play in the brook and in the mornings when the dew is still on the grass. Torches are always handy when camping, there are no street lights for miles! There are many cycle routes in the area and a new circuit in Pembrey Country Park to try out. Stout footwear is advisable for the footpaths around the farm.
