From seeking out cycling, horse riding or hiking around the commons, slopes and assorted market towns in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to relaxing in the grassy wildlife haven on site, the dog-friendly glamping site at Lower Hammonds Farm is powered up for a recharge… and just 15 minutes’ drive from Guildford’s canals, medieval castle and independent shops.
Simply show up, lay down your bits and bobs and crack on with plotting out your plan of action (there’s plenty of 4G mobile internet access for that). Handily, there’s also an amenities block on site so that you can freshen up before a big day out.
With plenty of space to stroll around the site and its surrounding woodlands, warm up with a walk before any activities out and about later in the day.
A visit to the National Trust country house within the 400-acre estate and gardens at Hatchlands Park, is a must – particularly because Hammonds Glamping guests get full complimentary access for the duration of their stay (what a lovely little bonus…)
When your stomach starts to grumble a little, there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance of the site, including a café and a gastropub with a beer garden and toasty log fire 10 minutes’ walk away, and several more places (including an authentic Italian restaurant - La Meridiana, Thai inspired gastro pub, Indian restaurant) also in the village.
There are some fantastic local pubs a stones throw away in nearby villages. some of these include, The William Bray in the famous village of Shere, The Queens Head in East Clandon, The Jovial Sailor in Ripley. If you are after a touch of fine dining, The Clock Tower in Ripley or The Sorrel Restaurant, down the road in Dorking is a must to visit as have some amazing dishes on offer.
As for fitting in a food shop, stock up at the small shop 15 minutes’ walk away in the village's parade of various shops.
We have deluxe furnished Bell tents which will cover the bedding aspect or you can book one of the standard tents which you will need to bring your own sleeping arrangements or add-on one of our airbeds if you wish!
