About West Stow Pods

West Stow Pods is a family-run glamping site in the heart of Suffolk’s scenic countryside. Featuring a Hobbit House, 4 MegaPods and a Woodland Lodge.

Reconnect with nature in comfort at West Stow Pods, a Suffolk glamping retreat. The site is just a few miles from the market town of Bury St Edmunds and is a prime spot for getting out and exploring the neighbouring Suffolk countryside and all its beautiful walking, horse riding and cycling trails.

Situated in privately owned woodland in picturesque Suffolk, West Stow Pods welcomes you to stay in one of its four MegaPods. Each MegaPod is fully self-contained and is suited to sleep up to four people, two adults and two children and comes complete with a kitchenette and an ensuite shower room.

On site, there is also a Woodland Lodge where you can immerse yourself in Suffolk’s glorious countryside. Located near a quiet country lane and in proximity to our little car park, it is ideal for people who want to park adjacent to their accommodation. The Woodland Lodge is fully equipped and comfortably sleeps up to four people in a double bed in one room and bunk beds in the other.

Our Lodge is the ideal accommodation for those who want to get reacquainted with nature without sacrificing any modern comforts.

Or seek your next adventure at Pod Hollow, a halfling-inspired subterranean dwelling, which is our latest development.

From its rolling hills and fields, to its ancient forests and wild brambles, the Suffolk countryside is full of wonder. And what better way to experience its magic than by staying at Pod Hollow, a charming, and subterranean dwelling built into the side of a grassy knoll?

Stepping outside Pod Hollow will open up a world of possibility; from the many walking and cycling trails that begin on our doorstep to the West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village a few minutes drive away.

West Stow Pods is a woodland retreat. WiFi available in Pod Hollow and The Lodge. MegaPods are Wifi free for digital detox but WiFi can be arranged if necessary. Fantastic play area for children and cafe located at the Anglo-Saxon Village 5 minutes drive away. Nearest pub 5 minutes drive away, 40 minutes walk.

Inside Pod Hollow: Two double bedrooms with a King-sized bed in each. Bolster available for children sharing. Sitting room with cosy settee, armchairs and fireplace. Digital TV and DVD player. For a stay in a MegaPod, please bring everything you would as though you were going camping. For a stay in The Woodland Lodge bring bedding, towels and BBQ coals. For a stay in Pod Hollow everything provided except BBQ coals and provisions (and warm clothing and wellies and slippers, although there are some Hobbit slippers provided!).

The prices above are for stays in a MegaPod or The Woodland Lodge and are for 2 adults. Prices for Pod Hollow are from £150 a night mid-week (for 2 adults) to £200 a night for 4 adults.

Cancellation policy

We understand that people's plans do change and so your booking is 100% refundable (minus a £25 admin charge) as long as you cancel 30 days prior to your check-in date. After that date, if you cancel you will be charged for your full stay.
