Read moreThe glamping site is reached through the main gates of Tanycoed Farm. Arranged as a village with glamping units set far enough apart for privacy, all facilities are easily accessible. Dating from the early 1900s the farmhouse is home to the Boydon family, owners of Barnutopia. The red brick stable block is even older. The long barn dates from 1915. There is a large communal long barn and an indoor/outdoor Dutch barn. The Dutch barn is safe for campfires when the weather is poor.
The Cookhouse is a large fully equipped camp kitchen with everything you need to prepare, cook and eat foot. Dining tables and chairs. Lounge area with leather sofas. TV and DVDs. The Kitchen Shack is a smaller kitchenette with everything except an oven. Small table tor two. The Bathroom Block has a ladies, gents, showers, wet room and baby-changing facilities. Fire pits made from beer barrels are provided along with logs to burn (for glampers, campers may purchase).
Fresh water is supplied from a spring and runs through particle and UV filters before consumption. A 10,000 litre rainwater harvester supplements water to the bathroom block and the water is used for flushing toilets. Waste water from the bathroom block flows through a sewage treatment plant (not a tank) and is returned to the ground water. The waste company we use recycles 100% of waste (Mrs B has quizzed them to confirm).
Glamping guests should bring clothes, personal items, food and towels. If you do forget something, we can help out. Campers need to bring their own tents and bedding.
