About Marthrown of Mabie

Marthrown of Mabie is right in the heart of the forest, away from the hustle and bustle of the world - a uniquely rustic environment.

Although only a few miles from the region's capital town of Dumfries, Marthrown of Mabie is completely surrounded by forest and this makes the sounds of modern life disappear.

Marthrown of Mabie is a great spot to relax and unwind, with a sauna and hot tub on site. Extra charge

Marthrown is not the place for "White Gloves" but we do have a uniquely breathtaking and beautiful environment.

We have a 2 holiday cottages , 3 yurts - 1 sleeping 6 and the other two sleeping 4, a Bell tent sleeping 4 , a camping area and our very special Celtic Roundhouse which sleeps 16.

A unique location with an array of picture perfect wedding sites, from spectacular views over the Solway to the Lake District, Fells, a secluded Loch with natural surrounding wildlife, or an Ironage Roundhouse. Looking for an activity filled weekend?

Marthrown is ideally situated for some great activities and as a base for 7stanes mountain biking.

We have lots of other activities surrounding our beautiful grounds. Great place for walks, bird watching and more.

We have parking for about 38 cars if everyone parks responsibly !!! Up in the forest you will find the "Marthrown Challenge Course" for all ages to have a go - we ask that children are accompanied by a responsible adult. The BBQ area is covered so that it can be used in all weathers and during the summer months we put up a large marquee for your use.

For all units apart from Bell tent and Roundhouse all bedding is provided but you will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows for those two. If you are camping you will need to bring all your camping equipment but there is a covered area to take your stove and cook

Our Low season is 1st November - 31st March excluding Hogmanay High season is 1st April - 31st October

Cancellation policy

We ask for a 25% non refundable deposit to secure the booking. For all Roundhouse, Mini Festival Site and Full site bookings we require full balance to be paid 8 weeks before A damage/clean up bond is required the week before £250 for Roundhouse £350 for Mini festival site £500 for Full site bookings Refunded on handing the site back as you found
