A small and exclusive glamping site offering gorgeous Mongolian yurts set in a beautiful Scottish Valley with stunning views.
Our yurts are green to compliment the unspoilt Ettrick Valley. Each sits on raised decking with great views along the valley and has its own sitting out area with picnic table, BBQ and fire pit.
Wonderfully cosy inside with colourful painted woodwork lit by the 5ft crown in daylight and candles and solar lights at night.
Comfy beds, table and chairs, duvets, fresh linens, cushions, blankets and all the cooking equipment you will need.
Colourful rugs and a wood burning stove will keep you warm all night long.
Hot showers and proper toilets are a short stroll from your Yurt, and we have a small shop on site for any forgotten essentials as well as a few little luxuries.
Free Wi-Fi is also available and we have plenty of books and games you can borrow.
A stream trickles past the yurts and is a great place for paddling and messing about. This flows into the River Ettrick which is securely fenced off but is easily accessed.
All around are rolling hills, sparkly streams and the gently meandering river creating some of the finest scenery in Scotland.
Fresh air and wildlife abound, and there is no light pollution so thousands of stars are visible on a clear night, yet you are only 70 minutes from Edinburgh.
This is a great place for walking and cycling and is a wonderful glamping base for exploring the castles, houses and natural wonders of the Scottish Borders.
And then there is golf, horse riding, kayaking, tree climbing at Go Ape and other attractions close enough for a day out.
We also have 2 large holiday houses, The Byres and Ettrick View. The Byres has 6 bedrooms and sleeps up to 14 guest and Ettrick View has 7 bedrooms and sleeps up to 16. Great for family gatherings.
Shower and toilet facilities with piping hot showers, toilets and sinks in 3 private cubicles (one for disabled use). Large area of meadow land with grass and gravel paths, and the Newburgh Burn. Fires are allowed in designated fire pit areas outside each yurt. The small honesty shop on site stocks essentials you may have forgotten and a few luxuries. Free Wi-Fi, fridge/freezer, microwave and plug in kettle also available for guests use in the shop.
This is a low impact campsite with sustainability in mind. We are off grid apart from the showers, toilets and common room with wood burning stoves and solar lights in the yurts. Much of the furniture has been 'preloved' and 'upcycled'.
