Description of Upper Hurst Farm
This fabulous, authentic, hand-made Mongolian Yurt is spacious, cosy and perfect as a romantic glamping hideaway.
It is presented in a secluded, wild-life hideaway at Upper Hurst Farm enjoying uninterrupted views of surrounding hills.
Gaia’s Hideaway is just 2 miles from the picture postcard village of Hartington and a half a mile walk across fields to its closest pub, the Manifold Inn.
Smack-bang in the middle of Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek – making it is absolutely central for the shops and main attractions in the Peak District National Park.
Beresford Dale and the Manifold Valley are both within walking distance (1 mile).
The Yurt interior is lavishly furnished with an enormous circular bed with a goose feather and down duvet.
Top this with feather pillows and a softly-draped canopy – and you are sure to evoke the magic of Arabian Nights!
A mini-kitchen with washing up and cooking facilities, where the dining and lounge areas are arranged around a large Persian rug and central log-burner for cosy nights in.
Underfloor-heated shower and toilet facilities are to be found a short walk away on the eco and award-winning main campsite, Upper Hurst Farm.
The door out of the yurt leads onto a decking area and an adjacent footpath leads to a private, red-cedar, wood-fired hot-tub for you to enjoy a truly luxurious and peaceful stay amidst the trees, natural hedges, surrounding hills and wildlife.

Other Accommodation at Upper Hurst Farm
We are also a touring site for caravans, motor homes and tents and we have a 1 bedroom cosy stone cottage with hot-tub.
- Shared Showers
- Shared Toilets
We aim high. A 2018 googlereview by Debra Baldwin reflects this:
"The site is pristine, spotlessly clean everywhere. The shower and toilet blocks are five star without a doubt, just little things like lots of hooks in the shower cubicles make such a difference."
- Children's Play Area
- Sports Fields
We regularly hold 'meet the ponies'. This is great for children as they are shown that animals are to be respected and they are invited to groom them. Poo-picking is optional.
What to bring?
- Basic Provisions
Basic cooking equipment, bedding and towels are all provided.
