Romantic glamping holidays in cosy shepherds huts set on a working farm in the heart of the Peak District.
Two beautiful traditional shepherd huts Lily & Fern are a perfect hideaway to escape and unwind, surrounded by the beautiful Peak District countryside.
Our beautiful shepherd huts are on a hill sheep farm in the fabulous Peak District, situated above the River Dove near the picturesque hamlet of Milldale.
The huts themselves are reminiscent of the original living accommodation for a shepherd tending his flock, with its stable door, cast iron wheels, and wood burning stove.
Today it is a romantic all seasons retreat to relax, unwind, explore, walk and enjoy this countryside haven.
The shepherd huts are nestled on the edge of a small woodland, with nature on the doorstep ideally suited to couples or the solo traveller to escape the bustle of everyday life.
With circular walks from the doorstep, you can bring your trained dog too, as they are also welcome in one of our shepherd huts (Lily) with on extra fee.
Our shepherd huts are ecologically friendly, with no electricity , television or internet, instead just relax, refresh and awaken your senses amongst nature in the delightful Derby Dales.
The huts are warm and cosy with their wood burning stoves, perfect for those chilly Winter evenings and cooler days.
They each contain a built-in double bed with pretty fresh linens and throws, battery operated lanterns & fairy lights creating an ambient atmosphere, a camping gas stove for cooking simple meals, alternatively cook outside on the charcoal barbeque and enjoy some alfresco dining.
If you don't want to do all the cooking, an optional breakfast hamper can be delivered right to your door.
Sit out on the shepherd hut balcony, whilst sipping your tea and see the wildlife and farm animals awaken.
In the evenings swap your tea for a glass of wine and watch the sunset disappear behind the trees or sit around the fire pit and star gaze under starry skies.
Car parking is close by but not actually on site.
The toilets and showers are just a short stroll 20 metres through the apple orchard into the Old Dairy. There are two toilets and two electric shower cubiles. There is a power point within the Old dairy for hair dryers and charging phones.
There is an initial supply of wood for the wood burning stove, but you are welcome to bring your own logs but additional logs can be purchased on the farm. we recommend you bring a torch for use outside the shepherds hut.
The owner does not have a video of their glamping site.
