A self-contained shepherd's hut, nestled under a hedge on the top of a hill overlooking the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside.
This custom built shepherd’s hut is ideal for a romantic break or an escape to the country.
Peacefully off the beaten track Hill View Farm is a small working family farm.
Depending on the farming year/calendar our fields rotate between corn and grass. In the summer months we harvest the corn or make hay or silage from the grass and graze our cattle.
The hut has a gate/wooden fence surrounding it to ensure that any inquisitive cattle can’t get too close when grazing in the surrounding fields.
Hill View Farm is not far from the Cotswold and Chiltern hills should you wish to venture further afield. If you fancy leaving the car behind you can either walk or use our bikes to cycle around the area taking in the countryside. There are a number of local pubs serving food (see “places of interest” page).
In nearby Twyford there is a well stocked village shop run by the locals and at Stratton Audley there is a gelato ice cream parlour, cafe and gift shop.
There will be a welcome hamper to greet you when you first arrive, also a supply of basics such as coffee, tea and sugar in the hut.
If you prefer to prepare your own meals either on the BBQ or the little stove, you can top up your supplies in the nearby village of Launton which boasts an excellent traditional butcher and deli.
There is parking available by the farmhouse and also by the hut.
The BBQ is available for use when there is not standing corn/crops in the surrounding fields and/or the conditions are exceptionally dry.
There is a compost loo in the hut and the hut is powered by a 12V solar system. We encourage our guests to recycle their rubbish and compost their food waste, bins are provided for this.
We provide a welcome hamper enough to make your first breakfast or light supper. The basics are provided such as coffee and tea but if you are planning to eat in more than that it is advisable to bring your own provisions or buy them locally. All linen is provided and some extra blankets too but guests should bring their own warm clothing, rainwear, wellies etc.
The owner does not have a video of their glamping site.
As of early 2019 there will be mindfulness training available on site. Should you like a little retail therapy there is Bicester Village Designer Outlet 4 miles away. Oxford, Blenheim Palace and a number of National Trust Properties are close by also.
