About Longwool Shepherd Huts

Our traditional hand built family shepherds huts, set in the peaceful surroundings of a Medieval park of 22 acres, offers the perfect place for a romantic break or glamping holiday escape.

If you have ever wanted to stay in a shepherds hut then come along to us at Longwool and enjoy the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside of the Wolds and nearby Woodhall Spa.

Our shepherds huts are tucked away in Medieval parkland, adjacent to a bluebell and wild garlic filled wood where there is the opportunity to observe the abundant wildlife.

You can combine the tranquillity of rural life with the comforts of home.

Our cosy shepherds huts have all you need for a relaxing stay with electricity, double bed and duvet, pillows and linen, wood burning stove, hob, sink, fridge, pots and pans, cutlery and welcome pack containing local produce and our fresh free range eggs. The Nuthatch has a new eco wood burning hot tub.

Outside there is a barbecue and seating to enjoy the spectacular night sky and in the day make the most of the weather and wildlife.

Fall asleep to nothing but the barn owls hooting and the rustle of leaves.

You can explore the beautiful countryside – walking and cycling along our quiet country roads or enjoying the local amenities in nearby Woodhall Spa. A quaint village with a relaxed atmosphere, Woodhall Spa has a unique ‘Kinema in the Woods’, Jubilee Park open air swimming pool and grounds, restaurants, cafes, pubs and many independent shops.

The area is steeped in aviation history and we are within walking distance of the Petwood Hotel, linked to the 617 Dambusters squadron and close to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby.

You will be staying in a traditional handbuilt hut with antique features, where the greatest care has been taken to create a living space that you can enjoy without it being mass produced. A solid oak kitchen with extensive utensils, crockery, halogen hob and pans, toaster and kettle. Eco friendly washing up liquid, dishcloths and tea towels supplied. All bedding and blankets provided. A stable door allows views over the pond in summer and a wood burning stove to keep you cosy in the winter.

We recycle as much as possible and collect kitchen scraps to feed the chickens. We have replanted hedges and are in the process of tree planting on our land to encourage more wildlife.
