About Hut in the Sheep Wash

A beautiful shepherd's hut in a private and quiet riverside location. A perfect hideaway for a romantic break or an escape from the world.

A traditional shepherd's hut, fully insulated with sheep's wool and with solar panels for electricity. A multi fuel stove keeps the hut cosy and warm on winter days and chilly nights.

The hut is fully self contained - a small bathroom with eco loo and gas powered shower and a fully equipped kitchen area with sink and a two ring gas hob and grill.

A shed outside houses a gas run cool box. Outside there is a bbq and fire pit - perfect for sitting by to star gaze or just listening to the river running by and watching the wildlife.

There is a full sized double bed and table and chairs. Bedding and towels are provided, also tea, coffee etc and basic provisions for breakfast.

There are lights and a socket for charging phones ONLY - not suitable for hairdryers/straighteners!! Also there is no phone signal or wifi in the hut so perfect for a complete getaway from the modern world!

Car parking is right next to the hut so no muddy field to cross.

The hut is in a field called the Sheep Wash as sheep used to be gathered here in days gone by to be washed in the river. The location is very rural and surrounded by farmland and woods and is beautiful in any season.

Lovely from the bluebells in Spring - through Summer to the stunning colours in Autumn and frosty days of Winter.

Just a couple of miles from the market town of Ulverston and a short drive to Coniston Water this is an ideal base to explore The Southern and Western Lakes.
