Luxurious safari tents overlooking the stunning Meon Valley in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
Two luxurious safari tents overlooking the stunning Meon Valley in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
Within easy reach of London, we offer the perfect secluded spot for a memorable and truly relaxing holiday in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the South Downs National Park.
Nestling in a spacious conservation meadow our two well-spaced safari tents, Yellowhammer and Lapwing, are named after declining bird species that can still be seen on our family farm. The two tents each sleep six and are set well apart in the grassy field with plenty of space all around to play, relax and enjoy the tranquility of the glorious Hampshire countryside.
While your children romp in the meadow and enjoy the rope swing let yourself unwind and watch the sunset with a glass in your hand.
Explore the woods behind the tents, collect firewood or build a den. Stride out on the South Downs Way or admire the Solent from Old Winchester Hill. Both are accessible from the farm.
Walk the private paths over our treasured 250 acre farm and stroll into the picturesque village of West Meon, where you'll find an award-winning butcher, community shop, cafe and excellent pub.
Inside the tents you will find everything you need for a luxury stay, from high quality cotton bed-linen, kitchen table and comfy sofa to a cosy wood-burning stove and well-equipped kitchen complete with butler's sink.
Have 'the best night's sleep' in the king bedroom, twin bedroom or double cabin bed with soft-as-down duvets and comfortable beds.
Each tent has its own spacious cabin bathroom with a wood-burning stove that provides hot water for the luxuriant shower and kitchen and keeps the cabin itself beautifully warm.
Watch the sun go down from the tent’s deck, listen to the birdsong, toast marshmallows on the firepit or tuck into one of our freshly cooked meals.
However long or short your stay it will definitely be a holiday to remember and a time to relax with friends or family.
If you need to find room for an extra two, why not try out our amazing Tentsile tree tent?
Plenty of safe space for children to play while parents relax! Set in the middle of our farm the site offers tranquillity and privacy. Toast marshmallows on a campfire, play board games, feed the log burner, chat round the kitchen table. The Meon Valley Trail runs through the farm and provides a great place for level cycling and gentle walks. Enjoy the views from the private tracks round our fields and watch the hares, buzzards or kites.
Each tent is as well equipped and furnished as a cottage. You will find everything you need in it, with wood and kindling provided as well as kitchen basics. The BBQ and firepit are close by, with a picnic table for easy outside eating. The bathroom cabin is spacious and cosy, with a great shower and eco-toiletries provided along with fluffy towels.
We aim to make our tents as eco-friendly as possible. The solar panel and wind turbine provide power for a small fridge and fairy lights. Extra paraffin lamps add atmosphere and cosiness in the evenings. As much as possible is recycled and we use environmentally friendly toiletries and cleaning products. Our sophisticated compost loos are so clever, they feel (and smell!) like normal toilets. The wood, kindling and BBQ charcoal are all sourced locally.
We aim to provide all that you need apart from your clothing and food. (You can also order freshly cooked meals from our website if you fancy a break from cooking). Although we provide a wind-up torch for each bedroom you may like to bring your own.
The owner does not have a video of their glamping site.
Walk through the farm to the village (and great pub) or the South Downs Way and hike to The Shoe at Exton, exploring the Iron Age fort on Old Winchester Hill en route. Pepper Pig World is within easy reach, as are the wonderful historic ships in Portsmouth and the ancient city of Winchester. Crab fishing at Emsworth is always popular and Meon Springs trout fishery is located in a beautiful nearby valley. Brave the high wires at GoApe or hold a hawk at the Hawk Conservancy Centre.
Usual booking periods are 2/3 night weekend and 4 night midweek. Shorter breaks are possible in low season. If in doubt please contact us.
As we know your plans sometimes have to change we will refund your full payment provided you cancel at least 60 days before you are due to arrive. After that we will try and re-book the period and will refund you if we are successful.
