The Dome Garden is a group of luxurious, ecologically sound, geodesic domes set in a peaceful garden in the heart of Gloucestershire’s ancient Forest of Dean.
These eco-domes are spacious self-contained units, up to 24ft in diameter, set on their own timber decks with a small forest kitchen and everything you need for a cool glamping extravaganza.
Inside, there are wood burning stoves, proper beds with lovely crisp white linen and a private ensuite with flushing loo and a shower or, in a few cases, a bath.
Hot water comes from a little wood burning boiler and is stored in recycled whisky barrels above each shower.
For food there are two choices. Self-cater in the outdoor kitchens or, if that’s what you do all week, let us take the strain in our small, but perfectly formed, restaurant and bar with amazing breakfasts, delicious Sunday lunch and our world class pizzas from the pizza oven – we think it's the only one in the world with two doors!
Off site there is a host of activities just around the corner.
Right next door is the Sallowvallets off-road mountain biking area. 20 miles of tracks of different grades from family circuits to adrenalin pumping downhill single tracks – and beyond that 35 square miles of ancient forest leading down to the River Wye.
So, there’s loads to do and tons to see within just a couple of miles; biking, hiking and canoeing for the active, caves and castles, trains and teashops for everyone else.
Hopefully not too much - just a spirit of adventure! Everything is provided for a great self-catering break but, there are catered options in the restaurant too. Our 'FedUp & Board' package provides most of your food while you are here. Or mix & match with a bit of ours & a bit of yours. Don't forget your bikes, to go adventuring on amazing trails for every level. On chilly weekends bring warm clothes, wellies and, if you feel the cold, the odd blanket might help and your sens

We called them the Simple domes because they are straightforward, honest and simply furnished. They take four people, or five with a child, and are – simply lovely. There are three Simple domes. One has an ensuite with a double-ended bath and one has been transformed into the “Green Dome” - it’s a bit lower than the others but it still takes the same number of people. If you have a preference… you have only to ask…
1 unit. Each unit sleeps 9

One giant dome, with room for eight, on two levels. This is the dome that makes you go WOW !! Why’s it called the Superdome? ‘Cos it does what it says on the tin. Super in every sense of the word… super sized, super fun, but above all super cool! In the roof you’re all at sea in five super-comfy pipe cots, normally found on ocean-going yachts, surrounding a slightly unnerving swinging double bed. And all dangling on cables from the roof, accessed by a little spiral staircase.
2 units. Each unit sleeps 7
Minimum stay - 3 nights
You’ve heard of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Well, these are the Hanging Beds of the Dome Garden. Domes have space – lots of it – but mainly in the roof. So with a little ingenuity, they can take a surprising number of people – as long as they are happy dangling in space! Hence the dom(e)itories, two of them, both based on 20ft domes but each with a mix of beds that hang, or stack, or simply sit on the ground. The Big one takes up to 8 people whilst the smaller one goes up to 5
