Luxury safari tents and yurts in a stunning lakeside setting, surrounded by farmland in the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside.
Camping for people who don't do camping!
Kingfisher Lakes is a family-run glamping site and we are eager for others to experience the special location we have on our working potato farm in rural East Yorkshire. You will find us in between two lakes and just off a country lane, giving you endless options for walks, bike rides, kayaking, fishing or just simply watching the sunset over the fields and the moonlight shimmering on the water. In fact one of the lakes provides all the hot water for your showers, underfloor heating in the washrooms & for your washing up, using a lake bed ground source heating system – what a great way for the beautiful surroundings we’re in to contribute to making your stay even more comfortable!
With four family sized Safari Tents and two cute Yurts, we are the ideal place to get away from it all for a family holiday, couples break or even for groups celebrating a special occasion. All the glamping tents are furnished with comfy beds, sofabeds, a log burning stove, storage, small fridge and kettle as well as those little touches that make it even more cosy with fairylights, balnkets, cushions. Outside there is a covered decking area on the Safari Tents, with picnic tables and benches from which to watch the sun go down or catch a glimpse of a shooting star!
The shared washrooms are really something else in luxurious camping terms, so you won't really feel like you're camping when using the facilities, there's even hairdryers & straighteners provided in the ladies! Each tent has a BBQ provided although if you have any additonal camp cooking needs the shared kitchen hut will take care of all that, with a gas hot plate (great for fry-ups!), a hob, microwave, toaster and all the pots & pans you might need.
Surrounded by countryside views and two lakes, you'll be fully immersed in nature, you can spot kingfishers, herons, deer, owls and more, all from your comfy base under canvas, or if you're feeling a bit more adventurous hire a kayak and get to see it al
Bedding & Crockery can be hired as extras or if you prefer to bring your own, our accommodation cost includes bottom sheets.
