About Knaveswell Farm Glamping

5 spacious safari style tents on our dairy farm situated between Corfe Castle and Swanage on Dorset's Jurassic coast.

Our 5 safari tents are set at the edge of woodland in a secluded field on our small dairy farm on the beautiful south Dorset coast. Our farm sits on a quiet lane beneath Nine Barrow Down, halfway between Corfe Castle and Swanage in an area called the Isle of Purbeck.

Each tent sleeps up to 6 guests - a king bed in one bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom and a double bed in the wooden cabin that opens into the living area . Our beds have thick duvets and will be made up ready for your arrival. A travel cot will fit in to either bedroom and you can borrow one of ours to save space in your car.

A large wood burning stove with oven is used for cooking and for warming the tent in cooler months; help yourself to firewood from the woodshed. There's a dining table for 6, a large comfy sofa, a kitchen dresser brimming with enamel cookware and crockery and a large belfast sink with hot water. We have melamine crockery for children and can provide a highchair if required. We supply washing up liquid, tea towels, tea, coffee, sugar and hot chocolate, cooking oil, salt and pepper. Keep your food cool in the tent's large cool box with ice packs supplied up at the farm.

You'll find a shower shed on one side of tent's rear decking and a loo shed on the other side. Towels, bath mat, loo roll, shower gel and hand soap are provided. There's a non-slip shower mat and a toddler step for little ones.

We have a couple of overhead electric lights in the kitchen and dining area plus a light in the loo shed. There are a couple of electric sockets in the kitchen area and tents have a small kettle for making hot drinks while the stove heats up. Bedrooms and the shower shed are lit by candle lanterns.

Outside there's a covered deck at the front of the tent with a picnic table and a couple of deckchairs. Outdoor cooking is done on the barrel BBQ and we'll give you a bag of charcoal.

Parking is next to the glamping site.

We're a working farm and guests are welcome to pop up and watch our herd of being milked or visit the calves in the barn. Our hens live next to the glamping field so there should be fresh eggs to collect each day. The private field in front of the tents is exclusively for guests use.

You'll find a large recycling container outside each tent and we ask guests to please recycle all glass, paper and plastic. Solar panels on top of our farm buildings generate electricity to our tents.

Bring your wellies if you wish to visit the cows and calves on the farm. Our tents are very well kitted out so you should only need to bring food, clothes and toiletries.

Our farm offers great access up to Nine Barrow Down which forms part of the South West Coast Path. Walk to Corfe Castle or to Swanage along the top of the Down. Try coasteering at Lulworth Cove or Dancing Ledge. Go sea fishing for mackerel in Swanage Bay. Or just spend days on 5 miles of sandy beach at Studland.

2 night weekends and 2 night midweeks available during selected periods during spring and autumn.

Cancellation policy

Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel your booking 6 weeks or more prior to arrival then the balance will be refunded less a cancellation charge of £100 per tent.
