This beautiful bespoke hand built off-grid cabin is set in 12 acres of working woodland at the Bulworthy Project in Devon.
Set in its own woodland glade, this luxury eco-cabin offers an exceptional level of seclusion and is the perfect place for a romantic weekend.
A truly unique place to stay, this cabin was handmade by it's owners, partly from wood they harvested themselves. The character filled rustic exterior made of naturally gnarly wood includes a beautiful post and beam frame made from naturally fallen heartwood oak. When you step inside, there is a luxurious interior with a comfy double bed, an en suite and a woodburner with a glass front allowing you to sit in bed and watch the flames.
All electricity is provided by solar. There is an electric cool box large enough for bottles of champagne. Hot water is provided by the woodburner.
There is a kitchenette with a double hob. When you arrive you will find some essential items in the kitchen, these include: crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, cafetière and barbecue tools, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, oil, salt, pepper & spices, washing up liquid, sponge, tea towel, kitchen towel, toilet rolls and bin liners.
Two USB sockets enable you to charge your phone and other devices. There’s a small wardrobe with coat hangers.
There’s even a selection of books including wildlife identification guides and a local OS map.
The window ledges are cherry that was felled as part of a coppice restoration project.
The bed head is made of holly from the same woods. The flooring is reclaimed parquet. Not only is it beautiful and very sustainable, it adds a feeling of warmth to the cabin.
We provide bed linen, towels, bath mat and hand soap in the shower room,
We provide enough firewood for your glamping stay & a bag of charcoal.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything that Bulworthy Project does and they hold a gold award from Green Tourism as well as and a gold award from Devon Wildlife Trust for working to benefit Devon's wildlife and natural environment.
Various events are run at Bulworthy Project and there is a licensed bar for these events. The cabin has a campfire and a barbecue in it's private woodland glade for your exclusive use.
The electricity for the cabin is entirely from solar power and it has been made with sustainability in mind. We hold gold awards from Green Tourism and Devon Wildlife Trust.
The cabin is in an unpopulated area just outside of exmoor which is a dark sky reserve. As such, on a clear night, the stars are amazing. It is also set in a woodland that has been described by Devon Wildlife Trust as "a mosaic of habitats". As it is the only tourist accommodation in the woods, you are likely not to see anyone if you go for a walk.
Higher prices apply for Christmas, New Year and Valentines day.
