About Brownscombe Luxury Glamping

Brownscombe is a multi award winning luxury Glamping site, situated in a peaceful South Devon valley between Dartmoor and the sea. Perfect for family adventures, romantic escapes and fun with friends.

Make the most of Devon’s coast and countryside at this beautifully styled farm retreat – just a short drive from Totnes and Dartmoor National Park. Overall the farm can sleep up to 30 guests in 4 luxury family sized Safari Tents, a Cabin and Roundhouse for 4 and a secluded Tabernacle for 2 overlooking rolling hills and fields. Dogs are welcome in the Cabin and two of the Tents.

All accommodation fits the definition of modern-day luxury glamping, boasting rooms that are stylishly furnished with vintage dressers and sumptuous fabrics, wood burning stoves, ensuites and well-equipped kitchens makes it seriously homely with a fridge, hot running water, electric hob and wood-fired range cooker. The thick mattresses and ultra-soft bedding ensure a great nights sleep.

Facilities include private hot tub hire outside your accommodation, a small onsite shop, where you can stock up on essential items and order some great meals full of delicious local produce including your breakfast (traditional English, veggie or continental). Alongside it is the Brownscombe Lodge, where you can enjoy private dining and the Pizza barn that offers communal pizza nights once a week in the school holidays.

For the family, there’s a children's play area with rope swings and a games room with pool, table tennis, and table football – or maybe they would rather get out on the farm and see the sheep, pigs, ducks and chickens and join in with the morning farmers rounds.

For groups you can book activities like yoga, aqua aerobics, spa treatments and various workshops.
The coast around this area offers some of England’s finest beaches, with SUP, kayaking and surfing amongst the water-sports you could try.

Elsewhere, the county is full of family-friendly attractions like Paignton Zoo and Pennywell Farm, as well as more fine places to eat – from Michelin Star to rustic pub. The nearest, The Bickley Mill, is within walking distance of Brownscombe and comes highly recommend

You can order food for breakfast or supper to eat in your own accommodation or use our private hire Lodge to cook steak on hot rocks and enjoy a chocolate fondue and once a week the whole site gets together for pizza nights from the wood fired oven in our Barn. The on-site honesty shop sells everything from local ice-cream, jam, charcoal, snacks and drinks to some of the homewares that you will find in our tent from Nkuku, Garden Trading and Yuyu. Free Wifi at reception and EV charging.

Brownscombe is close to Torbay with its 22 beaches that offer coasteering, kayaking and paddle boarding. Explore further into the South Hams to enjoy first class surfing at Bantham or Bigbury. We are close to Dartmoor that offers walking, climbing Tors, and breath taking scenery. Within walking distance is Compton Castle and nearby there are several other National Trust properties and coastal walks to enjoy. Dartmouth steam railway and river cruise where you often see seals is a few miles away

Cancellation policy

We will always try to resell your holiday if you have to cancel - up to 8 weeks before your stay we will offer you alternative dates or a full refund if we can re-sell your holiday less £50 cancellation fee. Within 8 weeks of your holiday, the refund will be the price we achieved less £50 if we are unable to do so then no refund will be due.
