Set in a picturesque rural landscape between the border city of Carlisle and Caldbeck village on the edge of the Lake District national park.
We provide high quality, affordable and warm year-round self catering accommodation with home from home comforts, in a tranquil rural setting, a real back to nature holiday experience surrounded by woodlands, walks, a range of wildlife and extensive rural views.
(Group bookings welcome but must have prior approval for 3 cabins or more).

2 x (Extra Large) En-suite PODS - Fox & Badger (with the option to add a 6 seater hot tub)
Full bathroom-separate shower cubicle, toilet and sink.
Underfloor heating, a country style kitchen with a Belfast sink.
Sleeping up to 4 adults (one king size bed and one double bed settee) or 2 adults and 3 children (maximum).
Includes the use of either a one or two ring portable induction hob with pans - available on request.
Fridge / Microwave/ Kettle / Toaster.
Crockery and Cutlery.
4 x (Large) En-suite PODS - Pheasant, Owl, Deer & Squirrel (with the option to add a 4 seater hot tub)
En-suite wet room (Includes, shower, toilet & sink).
Underfloor heating (except for Deer POD which is heated via a panel heater).
Sleeping up to 4 adults (one double bed and one double bed settee) or 2 adults and 2 children (maximum).
Fridge / Microwave/ Kettle / Toaster (Please note: No hob / rings).

"Stable pod" Budget cabin - not en-suite, facilities located at back of new utility room. – Ideal for 1-night stay. No hot tub provision.
Free Wifi (Don't expect miracles - we do not have fibre and the speed is slow!) However it is free!
Car parking free for the duration of your stay (One vehicle per cabin). Additional vehicles by arrangement only and chargeable.
Provision for well behaved dogs (chargeable) - MUST be kept off the furniture! Please bring a rug or blanket if necessary for your dog.
Comprehensive information folder in the pods advising of the on site facilities and amenities within the village of Dalston.
We have a small play area with a 10 foot trampoline, football net and tennis / volleyball net along with a small games store / chest. We have an assortment of poultry who like to become friendly with the guests along with 4 guinea pigs, two cats and two very friendly border collie dogs. There is a cafe located next door to the site and they provide quality cooked breakfasts and evening meals on request.
All the en-suite pods have the option to add on a hot tub facility. Gas BBQ's and Fire pits with or without charcoal grill arm can be hired. (You are provided with a generous supply of logs and a BBQ tool kit bag). All the hot tubs have a wooden gazebo structure over then and you can hang your towels to dry on the washing line provided. The hot tubs have therapeutic jets which aid in easing aches and pains especially after a day in the lakes. New for 2020 Utility / shower room / EVC
New for 2020 - Electric Vehicle Charging points
Our pricing structure is based on two adults sharing and when staying two nights or more in our en-suite pods you are provided with a fully made up bed and a bale of towels for two people. You only require additional bedding for the pull out bed settee i.e. children or additional adults over the base of two people. Please bring your own bedding for the non en-suite Stable pod or alternatively add a bedding pack on your booking.

There are a number of picturesque walks from the site which also incorporate the Cumbria Way. On and off road cycling is possible from the site. You can access a cycle path from our village of Dalston and go into the City of Carlisle and back. Fishing permits are available from the village post office to fish on the river Caldew. Horse Riding is available at Rookin House Riding Centre near Penrith. You can access a host of water sports from Derwent Water Marina, Derwentwater, Keswick.

We do not offer any refund (full or partial). However, if more than 48 hours notice is given we may, at our discretion, offer an alternative date suitable to you subject to availability. Please note: the booking will only be changed once and must be taken within 12 months of original booking. See full T&C's at bottom of our website homepage.

New for the 2020 - Budget cabin – Ideal for 1-night stays Due to popular demand for one night stays we are bringing in an additional cabin called the “Stable pod” – not en-suite. Quirky in design, cosy and comfortable; highly insulated with a panel heater. Sleeping a maximum of two adults; this could be the perfect solution for short stay restrictions in your plans possibly due to walking the Cumbria Way, cycling Lands’ End to John O’Groats or a midway overnight stop en-route North or South.
