Set in a picturesque rural landscape between the border city of Carlisle and Caldbeck village on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

We provide high quality, affordable and warm year-round self catering accommodation with home from home comforts, in a tranquil rural setting, a real back to nature holiday experience surrounded by woodlands, walks, a range of wildlife and extensive rural views.

(Group bookings welcome but must have prior approval for up to 3 cabins max).

There are 6 Luxury en-suite Glamping Pods:

4 x (Large - Family en-suite Pods)
- Fox & Badger are PET FRIENDLY (with the option to add on a 6 seater hot tub)
- Pheasant & Owl are PET FREE pods (Brand New upgrades for January 2023) (with the option to add on a 4 seater hot tub)

2 x (Std - Couples Pods)
Deer & Squirrel are PET FRIENDLY (with the option to add on a 4 seater hot tub)

1 x (Budget - Couples Pod)
Stable is en-suite and PET FREE (The same specification as the standard pods Deer and Squirrel but NOT on the main site. Does not have open views! Ideal for a 1-night stay or those on a tight budget looking for a comfortable base whilst heading out through the day exploring the wider area. (Can book this for pod for longer stays too with the option to add on a 4 seater hot tub)

Free Wifi (Don't expect miracles - we do not have fibre and the speed is slow!) However it is free!
Car parking free for the duration of your stay (One vehicle per cabin). Additional vehicles by arrangement only and chargeable.

Provision for well behaved dogs (chargeable) - MUST be kept off the furniture and on a lead!

A small play area with a 12 foot trampoline, football net and a games store / chest. An assortment of free range poultry who like to become friendly with the guests along with 4 guinea pigs, one cat and three very friendly border collie dogs. There is a fabulous café located in the centre of our village just 2 miles away. "The Country Kitchen" they provide quality cooked breakfasts, light lunches, Sunday lunches, tea's and coffee's etc.

All the en-suite pods have the option to add on a hot tub facility. Gas BBQ's and Fire pits with or without charcoal grill arm can be hired. (You are provided with a generous supply of logs and a BBQ tool kit bag). All the hot tubs have a wooden gazebo structure over then and you can hang your towels to dry on the washing line provided. The hot tubs have therapeutic jets which aid in easing aches and pains especially after a day in the lakes. Fully equipped Utility Room (Meg's Room)

Our pricing structure is based on two adults sharing and when staying two nights or more in our en-suite pods you are provided with a fully made up bed and a bale of towels for two people. You only require additional bedding for the pull out bed settee i.e. children or teenagers over the base of two people. Please bring large bath sheets for hot tub use! Please bring your own bedding for Stable pod or alternatively add a bedding pack to your booking if only staying one night.

There are a number of picturesque walks from the site which also incorporate the Cumbria Way. On and off road cycling is possible from the site. You can access a cycle path from our village of Dalston and go into the City of Carlisle and back. Fishing permits are available from the village post office to fish on the river Caldew. Horse Riding is available at Rookin House Riding Centre near Penrith. You can access a host of water sports from Derwent Water Marina, Derwentwater, Keswick.

Notes about prices

Prices are based on two adults sharing. We "keep it simple" only two rates all year - basic rate then the Bank Holiday rate! Important Note: The lead booking member staying on site MUST be 21 years old! Should we suspect that our guests are under our age rule, proof of age may be requested and you could be asked to leave.

Cancellation policy

We do not offer any refund (full or partial). However, if more than 48 hours notice is given we may, at our discretion, offer an alternative date suitable to you subject to availability. Please note: the booking can only be changed once and must be taken within 12 months. £25.00 admin fee. See full T&C's at bottom of our website homepage.
