Almost wild, Ruthern Valley is a quiet campsite in central Cornwall, perfect for beaches, bikes, coastal walks, or just to relax in the countryside.

A treesome tranquil spot where you can be as active or as relaxed as you like.

Beaches and bike trails, moors and mountain-biking are within very easy reach.

The Camel Trail, Grogley Woods, Helman Tor, Bodmin Moor and Polzeath surf are just a few reasons to get out and about.

We’re proud to have achieved the Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award 18 years running and you’ll find yourself surrounded by greenery and flowers all year round.

We offer a wide range of camping and self-catering glamping accommodation: from grass pitches and electric hook-ups, pod cabins, ensuite megapods, wooden wigwams to lodges or bungalows.

There is something for every budget.

Ruthern Valley is a safe haven for children at play with swings, a climbing frame and a small pitch with goal posts for a bit of footy.

Our shop is well stocked with all the basics – plus a few luxuries – home-reared eggs and even sausages.

A friendly welcome is waiting for you at the Reception/Shop - our shop is well stocked with the basics and a few luxuries - from corkscrews to Cornish Cider, Camel Valley, blow-up beds to our own sausages or Heinz Beans and BBQs. There is a communal fire pit for a proper campfire. A football pitch, woods to run around in, swings and climbing frame keep the kids active. Superfast Wi-Fi.

Our shower block has loos, showers and 2 larger family size shower rooms. Washing up facilities, washing machines, tumble dryers and ironing board.

The hot water in the shower block is solar heated (with electric and gas back up!) We have been awarded Gold David Bellamy award for conservation for 20 years. We have minimal outside lighting in a conscious effort to reduce light pollution, the stars very clear.

Camping pods are not equipped so think of it as a wooden tent - bring everything else. Wigwams have memory foam mattresses, fridge, kettle and microwave - so sheets and duvet/sleeping bag and camping gear. Megapods are ensuite and have a mini kitchen with hot water. There is a double bed and sofa bed. A headtorch is a must for finding your way around at night.

Nature to explore, bikes to hire for the Camel Trail, wetsuits and bodyboards to hire. Ideally placed in the centre of Cornwall - north coast or south, take your pick. The Eden Project is 20 minutes, Lost Gardens of Heligan 30 minutes, beaches 25 minutes. Lanhydrock for the house or cycle trails, Cardinham woods for some bigger hills or Grogley woods for serious downhill biking. If that's all too much a wander to Camel Valley vineyard for their award winning bubbly now with royal warrant

Prices quoted are based on 2 adults sharing, see our extras for additional pricing. Camping Pods from £25 per night for 2 people. Glamping pods Wigwams from £35 per night for 2 people. Megapods from £45 per night for 2 people minimum 2 nights stay. Sorry no Sunday starts. Easy Online Booking and availability on our website.

Cancellation policy

We understand that people's plans do change and we can sometimes change your date but your deposit is non refundable if you cancel 30 days prior to your check-in date. After that date, if you cancel you will be charged for your full stay. However should we be able to re let your unit then we may be able to offer credit for a stay in the future.
