This Showman Wagon we call Mollycroft, was originally owned by a family operating a fairground coconut shy.

Built in Dagenham in 1949, this beautiful ‘Living Wagon’ still retains much of its original mahogany interior. It’s adorned with cut glass mirrors, chrome fittings and chandeliers.

With additions such as a shower room and an outside deck area, staying here would surely make for a unique and memorable glamping holiday.

Mollycroft has three distinct rooms. Through the main stable type door you enter the central living area with a kitchen containing cupboards, sink, fridge and a gas oven. A wood burning stove, surrounded by mahogany and a cut glass mirror, provides warmth and is adjacent to upholstered bench seating.

Through a sliding door, the bedroom has a double bed which is positioned to provide unobstructed morning views across the fields.

At the other end of the wagon is another siding door leading to the washroom.

As well as a shower, the washroom also contains a hand basin and a compost toilet. The toilet uses the Swedish designed, ‘Separett’ system which cleverly separates waste to virtually eliminate all unpleasant odours.

Ecological credits are enhanced even further by all the hot water in Mollycroft being harvested from rainwater.

Other interior features include the ceilings, painted by Graffiti artist Xenz – a modern and interesting twist to the Showman’s tradition of elaborately decorating their ceilings.

Located on the Mendip Hills in Somerset, with easy access to Wells, Glastonbury, Bath and the wonderful Somerset countryside. Mollycroft is situated in her own private part of the garden with south and westerly views across the Mendip Hill landscape to enjoy the most wonderful sunsets.

With a commitment to encourage green travel, we provide storage for bicycles. If you choose to travel by train, Mollycroft is just 10miles from the mainline, Penzance to Paddington station of Castle Cary.
