Welcome to Chez Yurt – luxury yurt camping in the beautiful Limousin region of France.

If you love the romance and adventure of camping but also enjoy the comforts of home (proper beds, fresh linen, hot showers, a flushing loo!), then a stay at Chez Yurt could be the answer.

We have something to suit everyone’s needs, from honeymooning couples to large families.

Our take on glamorous camping, or ‘glamping’, offers peace and privacy as well as the opportunity to enjoy the various attractions on-site and throughout the region.

Chez Yurt is situated in a small hamlet in the Haute-Vienne department of the Limousin in South-West France.

Our Mongolian yurt (or ‘ger’ as it is more accurately known) enjoys views over the Gartempe Valley and across to the Monts de Blond in the distance.

Our local village, about 4 miles away, offers a range of shops and facilities including a boulangerie, bank, pharmacy and restaurant, and the nearest supermarkets are within 10 miles.

We are about halfway between the historic cities of Poitiers and Limoges – the former is the picturesque capital of the Vienne noted in particular for its Romanesque architecture, and the latter the bustling capital of the Limousin famed for its porcelain industry.

Our guests are often content to spend lazy days by the pool, swing in the hammock, read under the shade of the oak tree, and generally take things very easy indeed.

However, there are plenty of delights to explore across the region, whether you enjoy great food, history, culture, wildlife, sports or adventure.

We would be happy to help tailor your itinerary to your particular interests.
