Gently bobbing on its pontoon platform in the Tatai River, 4 Rivers Floating Lodge is Cambodia’s and possibly the world’s first floating luxury tent resort, adding an aquatic dimension to glamping.

Surrounded by lush jungle, elegantly hip decor and a laid back atmosphere, this unique escape is the perfect new Southeast Asian holiday bolthole.

Pristine tropical forests flank the river’s edge, with traditional Khmer stilt houses camouflaged amongst the greenery.

Accessible only by boat, the entire resort is waterborne, with floating walkways joining the 12 individual tents to a central pontoon housing a bar, restaurant and library.

The perfect spot to sunbathe in the daytime and stargaze at night, gated steps from the decks allow easy access to the river.

Proximity to the Tatai river estuary into the Gulf of Thailand means the water is part-fresh, part-saline and as a result surprisingly clear and safe to swim in.

Tucked along a quiet meander, the floating camp is ideally located on the Cambodian-Thai border, in the Cardamom Mountains, half-way between Bangkok and Phnom Penh.

Surrounded by unspoiled nature, 4 Rivers is an idyllic spot with all the hallmarks of a truly unique luxury destination.

With the Tatai River to rock you to sleep under canvas every night, few destinations will be able to beat this peaceful corner of Earth.

Features include:

  • 12 floating luxury tents (40 sqm each), 6 double with beds (queen size) and 6 with twin beds. To be extended to 18 (9+9) in October 2010
  • Gourmet Restaurant
  • Inroom Wi-Fi
  • Library
  • DVD, games rental
  • Activities include kayaking, boat trips and jungle treks
